Varsity and JV FH both have games this week, BUT they are on different days (Varsity AWAY@ER Tues 7:30pm; JV HOME vs Schroeder 5:30pm on Thursday)
We practice 3:30-5:30pm on days we do not have games. Locations vary, so check “The Week Ahead” listing below or your the Arbiter app on your phone for practice locations
On Tuesday 9/8 the Athletic Dept has assigned the FH team to complete a required 5:30-6:30pm strength workout in the EHS weight room with Coach Isaiah
- This is a requirement mandated by the Athletic Dept (not the FH coaches).
- We already know that FH players who are in marching band will not be able to attend the strength workout, but all other Varsity and JV players are expected to attend.
  - However, any other players — not in marching band — who cannot attend should let their coaches know IN ADVANCE, in writing and provide a reason why. Messaging via ParentSquare/StudentSquare is preferred. Text messages are also acceptable.
- These required strength workouts will most likley be 1x per week and scheduled on dates we do not have games.
ALL PLAYERS are expected to be at full FH practice times this week 3:30-4:30pm
If a player cannot attend a practice or game this week, they need to let their coaches know IN ADVANCE, in writing and provide a reason why. Messaging via ParentSquare/StudentSquare is preferred. Text messages are also acceptable.

What to bring to practice ALL DAYS:

FH gear (stick, mouthguard, shin guards, turf shoes or cleats (optional) AND sneakers (in case we move indoors)
Full water bottle
Wear appropriate comfortable workout clothes (no belly tops or bare midriffs)

NEW SCHOOL DISTRICT COMMUNICATION TOOL:

PLAYERS & PARENTS PLEASE PUT THE APP ON YOUR PHONE ASAP!!

The school district is adopting a new communication tool that allows students and their parents to see all school district messages — including messages from sports teams — at the same time. For field hockey, this eliminates the need for multiple texts groups for players and parents — everyone gets the same message at the same time. This tool replaces text messaging. All players and parents should download the free APP to their phones as soon as possible. (I am assuming the APP will be pre-loaded on the student laptops that are issued by the school district.)

9:15-9:30 Approximate time team bus returns to EHS

NOTE: ALL PLAYERS are expected to ride the team bus to and from each game. If your family has need to request that a player not ride the team bus to or from a game, the Athletic Director must receive the request in writing at least 24 hours in advance of the game.
