Sunday May 3, 2026
Hello EIMS ModFH Players & Families! After an “all-practice” week last week, we have a very busy 3-game week this week. As you know, with a roster as small as our EIMS FH roster is this season, we need to have all players at all remaining games and practices. If your player cannot attend a practice or game, PLEASE notify us ASAP so that Coaches Posella and Evans can plan accordingly. Players can contact Coach Evans directly via the EIMS Modified FH page on the school district Microsoft TEAMS app. Parents can contact Coach Fischer via Text 585-233-2105.

ANY PLAYER NOT RIDING TEAM BUS BACK TO EHS ON WEDNESDAY 5/6 — PARENT NEEDS TO GET PERMISSION FROM ATHLETIC OFFICE IN ADVANCE
ALL FH players are expected to ride the team bus to and from AWAY games. If family circumstances necessitate that a player not ride the team bus to or from an AWAY game, a parent must email the Athletic Department (athletics@eastiron.org) IN ADVANCE to obtain permission for the player to be transported by a parent instead. Coach Posella and Coach Evans cannot allow a player to not ride the team bus unless the Athletic Department’s permission is obtained in advance. This is a school district rule.

WEATHER THIS WEEK
The weather looks like a mixed bag once again this week. Warmer and no rain to start the week and cooler with some rain later in the week. PLEASE monitor the weather forecast daily and make sure your player is DRESSED FOR THE WEATHER each day!

MANAGING PLAYER EQUIPMENT
Our EIMS ModFH players are required to take personal responsibility in managing their FH equipment.
We provide players with string bags to help them with this task.
Players MUST bring the following items to EVERY practice and game:
FH stick
Stick work cones
FH string bag
Mouth guard
Shin guards
Goggles (if choosing to wear them)
Appropriate footwear (sneakers, turf shoes or non-metal cleats).
WATER BOTTLE: Players are also responsible for having a full water bottle at every practice and game (which will be very important as temps heat up later this spring).
APPROPRIATE CLOTHING: Players are also responsible for wearing appropriate clothing to practice that allows them to be comfortable and to move freely.
——
IF A PLAYER IS GOING TO BE LATE — OR MISS — A PRACTICE OR GAME
It is the obligation of all EIMS ModFH players/families to notify coaches in writing. — in advance — if a player will be late or will miss a practice or game.
We also need to know the reason why.
Players can notify through the Microsoft TEAMS “EIMS ModFH Group” by replying to Coach Evans’ daily FH post.
Parents can text Coach Fischer 585-233-2105.

We Raised More Than $1,100!
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. As part of our Lancer Field Hockey Cares initiative, EHS JV field Hockey Coaches Posella and Evans took the lead in organizing a Lancer Field Hockey fundraiser to benefit The Willow Domestic Violence Center. Through online donations as well as selling donuts (donated by Donuts Delite) and having a gift basket raffle during our FH games on 10/16, the team succeeded in raising more than $1,100 to benefit Willow. Lancer Field Hockey is a long-time supporter of The Willow Domestic Violence Center, having raised well over $7,000 for the organization since 2014.
Thank you EHS FH players, families, coaches, as well as friends & alum of EHS FH, for supporting our community service efforts!!

We are pleased to announce that our Fall 2024 Lancer FH team once again earned NYS Scholar Athlete Team honors. This is the 12th year in a row that our team has achieved this honor. Academics are always a priority for our program and we are grateful to have such an amazing group of Student Athletes in our Lancer FH program.
FALL 2024: SECTION V FH TEAM SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD!
This is the fourth time in the past 12 years that Lancer FH has received the Section V Team Sportsmanship Award (2014, 2019, 2022, 2024). The award is voted on by the Greater Rochester Field Hockey Umpire Board. Coach Cooper and Coach Fischer work hard to keep our EHS FH program moving in a positive direction. We are grateful for our awesome players, fantastic parents and supportive Athletic Department. This award recognizes the efforts of players, coaches, parents and our school district in pursuing good character and sportsmanship within athletic programs and in athletic competitions.

FALL 2023: SECTION V (DIV 2) COACHING STAFF OF THE YEAR
Lancer Field Hockey Coaches Cooper and Fischer were honored to be named the Fall 2023 Section V Division II Coaching Staff of the Year by our fellow Section V field hockey coaches. It is a testament to the great improvement our very young varsity team made throughout the Fall 2023 season! (DID YOU KNOW? Coach Fischer was also named Section V Division II Coach of the Year in Fall 2016. That was another season of great improvement for our Lancers and also a season in which Coach Fischer coached BOTH the varsity and JV teams.)
