OUR LANCER FH PHILOSOPHY:
1) Do the MOST Good
2) Show the GREATEST Kindness
3) Be the BEST Teammate
EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
Sunday April 26, 2026
Hello EIMS ModFH Players & Families! All EIMS FH players as well as Coaches Posella and Evans deserve congratulations on the steady improvement we are all seeing on the turf. The scores do not yet reflect the level of improvement, but they soon will. In the Pittsford game on Wednesday, our Lancers came back after a shaky Q1 to play 3 strong quarters with lots of solid defensive plays, effective passing and fast ball carries. It was a lovely day at Thornell Farms and players should feel good about the effort. As for our Saturday game — my goodness — the weather was something else! Our players and coaches showed fortitude and excellent endurance to stay competitive throughout the entire game. I have been associated with field hockey for a very long time and I’ve experienced games in all kinds of weather. I feel qualified to say that Saturday’s weather was extremely challenging. I hope everyone was able to warm up and rest Saturday evening, and be able to take a few moments to be proud of what was accomplished this week! A special thanks this week to Coaches Posella and Evans for arrangfing a team breakfast at EHS early Saturday morning! The breakfast was well-attended and provided an awesome team bonding experience for the players.

NO FH GAMES THIS WEEK (3-5:15 Practice Monday -Friday)
This is the week of the EIMS Musical. As such, we rescheduled all games away from this week, which means we practice 3-5:15 Monday-Friday. Participants in the musical have flexibility on practice attendance this week so that they can focus their attention and energy on the final musical rehearsals and the performances at the end of the week. EIMS FH players who are not participating in the musical are expected to be at ALL practices this week.

WEATHER THIS WEEK
Please continue to monitor the weather EACH DAY and make sure your player is prepared for what is forecast.
This week looks like we may have warmer temps to start the week with cooler temps to finish out the week.
It could be rainy some days as well.
Please make sure your player is prepared! (As the days become chilly again… please make sure your player has some warm clothes… sweatpants, sweatshirt, hat, gloves, jacket, etc…)

MANAGING PLAYER EQUIPMENT
Our EIMS ModFH players are required to take personal responsibility in managing their FH equipment.
We provide players with string bags to help them with this task.
Players MUST bring the following items to EVERY practice and game:
FH stick
Stick work cones
FH string bag
Mouth guard
Shin guards
Goggles (if choosing to wear them)
Appropriate footwear (sneakers, turf shoes or non-metal cleats).
WATER BOTTLE: Players are also responsible for having a full water bottle at every practice and game (which will be very important as temps heat up later this spring).
APPROPRIATE CLOTHING: Players are also responsible for wearing appropriate clothing to practice that allows them to be comfortable and to move freely.

IF A PLAYER IS GOING TO BE LATE — OR MISS — A PRACTICE OR GAME
It is the obligation of all EIMS ModFH players/families to notify coaches in writing. — in advance — if a player will be late or will miss a practice or game.
We also need to know the reason why.
Players can notify through the Microsoft TEAMS “EIMS ModFH Group” by replying to Coach Evans’ daily FH post.
Parents can text Coach Fischer 585-233-2105.

We Raised More Than $1,100!
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. As part of our Lancer Field Hockey Cares initiative, EHS JV field Hockey Coaches Posella and Evans took the lead in organizing a Lancer Field Hockey fundraiser to benefit The Willow Domestic Violence Center. Through online donations as well as selling donuts (donated by Donuts Delite) and having a gift basket raffle during our FH games on 10/16, the team succeeded in raising more than $1,100 to benefit Willow. Lancer Field Hockey is a long-time supporter of The Willow Domestic Violence Center, having raised well over $7,000 for the organization since 2014.
Thank you EHS FH players, families, coaches, as well as friends & alum of EHS FH, for supporting our community service efforts!!

We are pleased to announce that our Fall 2024 Lancer FH team once again earned NYS Scholar Athlete Team honors. This is the 12th year in a row that our team has achieved this honor. FALL 2024: SECTION V FH TEAM SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD!
This is the fourth time in the past 12 years that Lancer FH has received the Section V Team Sportsmanship Award (2014, 2019, 2022, 2024). The award is voted on by the Greater Rochester Field Hockey Umpire Board. Coach Cooper and Coach Fischer work hard to keep our EHS FH program moving in a positive direction. We are grateful for our awesome players, fantastic parents and supportive Athletic Department. This award recognizes the efforts of players, coaches, parents and our school district in pursuing good character and sportsmanship within athletic programs and in athletic competitions.
FALL 2024: UNITED WE SUCCEED
FALL 2023: SECTION V (DIV 2) COACHING STAFF OF THE YEAR
Lancer Field Hockey Coaches Cooper and Fischer were honored to be named the Fall 2023 Section V Division II Coaching Staff of the Year by our fellow Section V field hockey coaches. It is a testament to the great improvement our very young varsity team made throughout the Fall 2023 season! (DID YOU KNOW? Coach Fischer was also named Section V Division II Coach of the Year in Fall 2016. That was another season of great improvement for our Lancers and also a season in which Coach Fischer coached BOTH the varsity and JV teams.)
