UPDATE: July 23, 2025

Hello 2025 EHS FH Players & Families!

We look forward to the upcoming Fall season. Below is important information all players and families should know. Please read through all items below.

TOP PRIORITY

PLEASE register for Fall EHS FH ASAP at the link below!

CLICK HERE to access online registration

———

EHS FH registrations as of 7/23/25: Justyce D, Quinn K, Harley K, Addy M, Ava T, Isla T, Eva W

——-

VERY IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT ONLINE REGISTRATIONS: You will see that the Athletic Dept has divided the FH registrations into JV and Varsity this year. This is an arbitrary division at this point, as coaches will not know how the players will be divided into V and JV until well into the first week of preseason. Coaches will be evaluating players on a variety of factors including: running/fitness, stick skills, hitting skills, passing & receiving skills, game play (understanding positions, cutting to open space, effective passing, communication, defensive positioning and tactics), effort, attitude, etc. So, when you register your player: 9th and 10th graders — for now — should register for JV (unless they have already played significantly at the varsity level) and 11th and 12th graders should register for Varsity. AGAIN, final decision on how teams will be split will be determined by the coaches during the first week of preseason. The ONLY players guaranteed to be on varsity are 12th graders as it is a NYS rule that 12th graders cannot be on JV. Keep in mind that no player is guaranteed playing time on varsity, while players on JV are all guaranteed playing time (provided they are attending practices).

——-

MORE IMPORTANT INFORMATION (please read all 4 items below!)

1) We will have both a Varsity and JV team this Fall

  • Full 16-game EHS FH schedule for both Varsity and JV

  • Anticipating two strong & competitive teams

  • New coaches will be added to the EHS FH coaching staff (we will provide more information on coaching staff as we finalize new hires)

  • SPECIAL NOTE PERTAINING TO MARCHING BAND: Each year, SEVERAL marching band participants are also in our EHS FH program. We work hard to avoid Saturday games so that players who also do Marching Band have minimal stress on their Saturday competition days. Our coaches work closely with Mr. Hoffman to make sure he knows our FH schedule and which students do BOTH FH and Marching Band. EHS FH always has a good working relationship with Mr. Hoffman and the Lancer Marching Band.

2) Our early morning summer FH workouts are FREE & Strongly Recommended for anyone planning to play FH this Fall

Players are strongly encouraged to join us every Tu/Th they are in town and available this summer.

We have MANY early morning Tu/Th workouts remaining prior to preseason (our last summer workout is Thursday 8/14). That is PLENTY OF TIME to prep for the FH season! PLEASE join us whenever you are in town and available!!

  • We meet Tu/Th mornings at EHS stadium

  • Players arrive between 7:15-7:25am.

  • We start promptly at 7:30am (NOTE: We choose to do these workouts in the early morning when temps are cooler.)

  • Parent pickup between 11:15-11:30am

  • We are on turf 7:30-10am… Break 10-10:30… Indoor strength workout 10:30-11:15

These workouts give players the opportunity to:

  • Complete the FH summer running program with teammates. (Perhaps THE most important thing players can do to prep for the Fall FH season is to complete our summer running program!)

  • Work on stick skills and hits in a no-stress environment so that players are “ready-to-go” with individual skills once the season starts.

  • Scrimmage with teammates and new EHS FH players.

  • Complete our FH body weight strength workouts that help make our players stronger and more athletic (and ALSO help reduce than chance of player injuries).

  • Acclimate to the heat. All of our summer early morning turf time helps players to gradually get used to rigorous FH team workouts in the hot summer and early fall temperatures we have been experiencing in recent years. Being acclimated to the heat PRIOR to the start of preseason is very important.

——-

3) Players who cannot join us for our early morning Tu/Th workouts at EHS should be doing running, stick skills and strength training on their own.

  • It is our hope that EHS FH players/families understand the importance of arriving at preseason fit and ready to go! (Doing this work at least 2x per week over the summer makes preseason so much easier for players.)

  • Our FREE early morning Tu/Th workouts provide an excellent oportunity for players to prep for the season.

  • Players who are unable to join us for summer workouts can follow the online workout instructions we have assembled on our team website. Players should try to complete the workouts 2-3 times per week… EVERY week.

  • CLICK HERE to access the online workout instructions
